Commissioner Quarles has reached out to ABAK regarding the Kentucky Department of Agriculture’s (KDA) final decision on Dicamba use and pending regulations regarding sales, record keeping, and increased penalties for bad actors. The KDA has decided that there will be NO cut-off application date in the 2019 season.

While there may be some additional requirements for sales agents, the commissioner is making every effort to reach a fair solution in Kentucky that will allow this crop production tool to be used responsibly over the next two years.

In the immediate future, all applicators must go through additional mandatory training approved by the KDA. If you completed training in 2018, it is no longer valid and you must retrain for 2019. We will do our best to communicate training opportunities as we learn of them.
